So what's the weakness behind tsukiyomi? For someone as omnisciently wise as Itachi, he sure was a hypocrite when he said that.

Basically what I said when somebody said Itachi VS The 10 tails, sure- if you analyse it hard enough you can argue anything but a series where a side character from the series' midpoint can topple the main antagonist is...incorrect or a mistake on the author's behalf.

It's no biggy but man, does it get annoying when fans abuse that missing link.

I think that without sharingan, Itachi still an advantage over Naruto in close quater combat. Naruto is also in base mode, so it's not like he hasn't any supplements to help him win in this Taijutsu fight.

Tsukuyomi's weakness is that anyone that within the Uchiha clan can counter. I was going to say people that are capable of doing the same actions as Gai, but Ephemeral - Tsukuyomi completely overrides that. Ephemeral (Finger Genjutsu) caused Naruto to blatantly open his eyes, at the false reality, and to realize you're in a Genjutsu, majority of the time the victim will use their senses; eyes to depict rather it's true or not. Even then... Itachi has reality simulation genjutsu which shits on that too.

Itachi is basically a main character to be very honest. Dudes steady being mentioned. Eh, I don't see it as a missing link, it's merely just a fact, that people don't want to except because of the hype it's given. But when hype is given by the will of a goddess, who predates/lived in the time of Yata Mirror, and Totsuka Blade, how can one call that fallacy?

A thematically relevant side character for sure. If Shikamaru and Obito are considered side characters then i'd even push him into tertiary but I know that's unfair haha. I'd be fine to validate Itachi's God Tools or his limits with his genjutsu if it felt like Kishimoto had ever validated them but apart from some. Techniques that are that ungodly strong and can defeat current and final villains, even if wielded by a past character SHOULD be acknowledged, used again or at least given a note of closure. The fact they faded into the background instantly is plain messy and near-impossible to analyse or place in the rest of the series.

The Uchiha Genocide and Danzo is a sub-plot in the series tho.

1. he has better taijutsu but Naruto has clone spamming, rasengans and rasenshuriken. Remember the barrage of rasengans and clones he did to destroy Edo Madara's mokuton? So i think Naruto may be able to pull out a win with all his ninjutsu.

3. I meant that was clearly a stomp fight for Naruto because if he absorbed all that natural energy Itachi would certainly get destroyed. Not to mention RSM Naruto has those bijuu rasenshuriken which blew up meteors that dwarfed mountains.

Thing is, Kishimoto did validate them when he introduced Black Zetsu being Kaguya's will. It's been seen that chakra contains info; Orochimaru residing in Anko's cursed seal as chakra, and knowing about the war - Orochimaru absorbing his chakra back from Kabuto, and learning more about the war.

Itachi transferring an unbeknownst seal incantation into a 3T Sasuke.

There's probably more examples, but I'm not going to find them at the moment. Every character in Naruto contains chakra; Black Zetsu. Chakra = Holds information, Black Zetsu was Kaguya's will aka made up of her chakra, meaning he/it contained her memories, and knowledge.

Him saying Itachi was invincible is reliable hype/fact, because an entity of Kaguya's status; a goddess who lived in that era/eras before the godly tools, who seemingly knew about them.. It has to be true. It only makes sense.
