Is the author telling us that Sasuke was hesitating and changed his mind and decided to let fans know when Sasuke used Enton on his Chidori instead of burning Naruto alive like he did against Raikage who he was really trying to kill. EVen though Naruto believed it:

Sasuke could've follow the will of fire and follow Itachi's footsteps to protect the village if circumstances allowed him to understand Itachi's resolve.

Naruto as a kid, hated the village, he could've just kill everyone who despised him and take the path of revenge for being a Jinchuuriki.

Not true. At this point in the manga, both Naruto and Sasuke have all nature types. Naruto also has the speed. Just like Sasuke now has the mastery and chakra control needed to perform RasenShuriken.

You won't see either of them using each other's jutsu because the nature type of each wouldn't be as effective in the others hand. Much like when Kakashi performed Rasengan and clashed withNaruto's Rasengan. Kakashi's Rasengan was obliterated.

OT: Naruto could have easily walked Sasuke's path. His clan wasn't destroyed by his brother but the village at large hated and feared him all his childhood for the bijuu inside him.

Had Danzo had his way, Naruto would have ended up like part I Gaara; used as a weapon, raised in the shadows forced to kill and that hate would have been fostered by Kurama until Naruto was ripe for takeover. And without the Uchiha around, Sasuke would probably be dead by part I (his eyes weren't ready to control bijuu at this point) and either Itachi or Pain would have to take down Kurama so you're right in that Naruto would be stopped by the eyes as without befriending Kurama Naruto would get locked in genjutsu and eventually the akatsuki would have claimed the 9 tails.
