This is the logic that kills me tanking blunt force doesn't mean shit with the latter offensive is slicing/Piercing.
This manga has shown us time and time again that Piercing techs have a much easier time bypassing durability of blunt force attacks.
That's interesting because I seem to recall that

And that explosion had an AoE much smaller than the meteors that Sasuke was casually cutting through with his swords. So bijuudamas are much more damaging than PS sword slashes if they are compared on that scale. Scale down Sasuke's slashes to Madara's, and scale down the bijuudama explosion to what 100% Kurama outputs and the scales are the same, so the results should be the same as well.
And since we are debating PS swords vs Kurama that example has the most significance.

Manda dispelled before he got hit with the full force of C0, and the only reason he only had burn marks on his skin is due to kishi wanting to draw him that way since mere surface-level burns would not come close to being enough to kill Manda.

We never see what happens to the portion of the hachibi that got directly hit by the bijuudama, and when you consider the stakes pierced the hachibi far deeper than the Gobi's horn did, it most likely is the same as the case with Manda: that kishi simply didn't visually show the damage due to artistic choice. At the end of the day, the hachibi was taken out by the bijuudama (which means it obviously didn't tank it) while the stakes didn't do anything to bee. The overall damage is what should be looked at when analyzing attack potency not how the artists chooses to represent them.
