What's the general consensus about Zoro. I mean honestly, and not just pointless character bashing because Zoro and Sanji fans have sparked a little rivalry. Do you find him to be a protected Mary Sue, or a genuinely interesting character with a compelling personality/character traits? Personally, I like Zoro a lot, but I liked him a lot more pre time skip. I feel he now has an aura of invincibility around him, which he never had preskip being the one who came out the most damaged after every fight and got some good character development i.e Baratie vs Mihawk, Usopp's leave, Luffy's pain etc... still, I feel Zoro's character will be restored soon, just as Sanji's has.

Also gets lost a lot. And cuts down a lot of people too. But mostly he looks really cool.

The only reason post time skip zoro hasn't done something interesting as pre time skip zoro is because he still hasn't gone serious against anyone and hasn't found anyone worthy enough to make him go serious.
Maybe in wano Kingdom arc we will get proper zoro awesomeness.

Really I have nothing to say about zoro, he is just there, in a manga that I read. I don't feel like he's a shit character but I dont think he's great neither. Though he was at least noticeable in pre skip, he simply doesn't have a presence in the new world as a character tbh, oda just has him in whenever a fight is needed.

Overall zoro is a good character(Alabasta/wheasky peek arc was great, I WISH oda wrote him more like that instead of the always trying to look cool gay vipe)

Who the **** is Mary Sue.. But anyways Zoro is a cool character, he'll get his moment(s)
A Mary Sue is an idealized and seemingly perfect fictional character, a young or low-rank person who saves the day through unrealistic abilities. Often this character is recognized as an author insert or wish-fulfillment.[1] Sometimes the name is reserved only for women, and male Sues are called "Gary Stus" or "Marty Stus"; but more often the name is used for both sexes of offenders.[2][3]

Zoro's character has become more linear but that's actually the way Oda was purposefully trying to portray him, if you have noticed Mihawk's personality has rubbed off on Zoro, and it's no surprise since he was with him for 2 years straight.

A combination of becoming an absolute beast and being with someone as somber as Mihawk has made him the way he is.

Btw to say Zoro and Sanji fans have sparked a little rivalry is more than an understatement, that's been the biggest flame war in the OP community for years.

Of all the panels you could have used to compare Zoro and Mihawk with, you pick the lines that are barely in common, instead of them both talking about frogs in a well. Or them both cutting a ship in half because their naps were disturbed.

And you're fine with Zoro becoming Mihawk 2.0?

No, but it makes sense. Zoro is just overall more serious post timeskip, being with a depressing ass guy for 2 years straight while only thinking about strength can do that to you.

If someone is not worthy of him, he will let you know. And so far nobody has been worthy of him.

Aside from that he still has his own little traits, so he's not completely the same thing.

True, but I was trying to portray how they look down on worthless enemies. It has a lot to do with strength.

Intersting characters? What makes a character interesting is up to you. Can simply being a badass not make you a genuinely interesting character? This is one of the reasons Zaraki (one of if not the most linear character ever) is arguably the most popular character in Bleach. We could give two shits about his backstory/persona as long as he just wrecks the enemy. To answer one question Zoro is a fairly linear character but most ppl don't really care because he is a badass. This character is made to be cool af. I don't see much of a change in his character accept for the fact that he is much stronger. I also loved the earlier arcs where the man came out of battle with all the injuries etc, but this new Zoro is a natural progression since he is much stronger and knows it. I mean he always had confidence, lol, now most of the confidence is warrented. Lol, I wouldn't go as far as to say this character needs salvaging either. Zoro is one of those characters on OP that doesn't need major development. Sometimes letting a badass be a badass is the best character writing you can do. Im sure we will see some minor development when he is actually pushed.

I completely understand what ur saying in fact I agree

I loved zoro pre time skip because he has always been challenged

But for what ever reason oda has made him fight fodder and make him seem invincible and sanji fight strong Ass op ppl and make him look weak af (but all of sanji fights post timeskip have been situational against vergo his body was damaged due to nami against doffy he was simply outclassed his dad and brothers his hands and Zeff life on line so yeah )
I don't get it. Ur I cannot wait till both of them show their true limits

Also I've been noticing zoro talk a lot of shit when sanji is not around (not that he wouldn't talk shit in sanji face because we all know he would) but I hope this causes tension within the straw hats and actually have them battle all out to actually show off their abilities

And then Luffy comes in via gear 4th smacks both of them into seperate sides of field both of them get up sanji with flames around him and Haki and zoro with Asura
Luffy then braces himself

But then Nami starts crying which calms everyone down
But Luffy finally realizes that he can't really control his crew if they actually wanted to directly oppose him

What do you take of zoro and sanji tbh? Kids? What type generic mainstream three way main character in high school setting ass scenario is that fam? Lmao keep that shit tbh

Zoro talks shit because that's what Sanji does, I don't know if you noticed but Sanji did call Zoro salty for losing to Mihawk at one point which was more insensitive than anything Zoro has ever said, lmao sanji is quite an ******* thus he deserves it.
