Can't Lee use reverse lotus in the third gate? It was stated that it was needed to beat Neji. I'm assuming Neji can't rotate during the prelims because that's what neosmith thinks.5G Lee is the only Lee that can take Neji down.
I mean that same Naruto beat the Gaara that Lee with gates could not.I don't even think Lee needs any gates past 3. Based off the actual feats we saw, this is actually pretty much a stomp in Lee's favor. I mean a cloaked Naruto was putting Neji on the backfoot, and he didn't appear even remotely as fast as Lee without weights.
How did cloaked Naruto put Neji on the backfoot? If it's the explosion after rotation, then Lee doesn't have anything that can cause rotation to explode right?I don't even think Lee needs any gates past 3. If Lee can use Ura Renge with the 3rd Gate then he beats Neji as Ura Renge is the tech that was hinted to be able to defeat Neji. Honestly makes much more sense than Lee needing up to the 5th Gate to win. Can't Lee use reverse lotus in the third gate? It was stated that it was needed to beat Neji. well DB says at minimum 3 gates are required for ura rengeIf Lee can use Ura Renge with the 3rd Gate then he beats Neji as Ura Renge is the tech that was hinted to be able to defeat Neji. Honestly makes much more sense than Lee needing up to the 5th Gate to win.
Pretty much this. Nothing else really needs to be stated. I would of loved to see Lee and Neji settle the rivalry at the end of part 2, but of course, their names aren't Naruto and Sasuke. Lame af.Lee only needs to open the 3rd Gate in order to safely defeat Prelims Neji without any problems , the 4th and 5th are not needed at all unless Lee wants to destroy him and if u read all these scans in line it pretty much cements want im saying.

Yea man , Kishi had a perfect rivalry flow going back in part one if u really see what he's trying to convey with the panels between them. He had Neji learn Kaiten to give him a counter for Lee's Ura renge.Pretty much this. Nothing else really needs to be stated. Totally different circumstances. Naruto faced a Gaara without his auto-protection sand, and his victory wasn't due to speed. If Naruto had faced the base Gaara there is no way in hell he would have won.I mean that same Naruto beat the Gaara that Lee with gates could not.

OT: I also think Neji didn't have rotation in the prelims based on the fact he was shown training and Tenten's statement during said training implying those were the early periods of her encountering it.
Also if Ura renge is high speed movement irrespective of 4th and 5th gates, then why didn't Lee use it in the 3rd gate against Gaara?
However, I fail to understand how Ura range is even needed when the 4th and 5th gates alone are extremely fast and destructive and arguably only a few hits would take Neji down.

Kishi's portrayal of Neji Vs Lee's feats....I really don't know tbh
Nice post. Yeah, I hate how close to irrelevant K11 (besides team 7) became in part 2. I think the only ones who got the proper development in relation to part 1 was Chouji and Shikamaru.Yea man , Kishi had a perfect rivalry flow going back in part one if u really see what he's trying to convey with the panels between them. Then Lee due to his injury could not progress much from the CE to SRA so Neji jumped even further ahead , increasing the size and potency of his techniques greatly along with his stats.

-Kishi seemed to have been steadily building Neji to Hiashi level to give a extra emphasis to the strong rivalry of the two styles , going so far as to show us that the repelling force of Kaiten has the potential to easily blitz and Kill multiple Ninja so as to set a bench-mark for Neji.

-Then by the war his Rotation was about the same size as Hiashi's Large Rotation which hints that he could've been only a tad bit below Hiashi.

-Tt seems That kishi was originally planning to build up and settle but due to reasons he could not get to have it panned out in p2 , would've been one hell of battle thats for sure and P1 Neji showed interest in taking Lee on with both going all out guns blazing LOL

Thats just the way it is tho because everything cant go as planned as we've seen with Kaguya and the whole Hyuga/Otsu mystery so theri rivalry was left unsettled.

Neji is shocked by Naruto's speed and is now struggling to keep up, as evidenced when he barely got off rotation during their clash.
Lee was moving like a billion times faster than Naruto here. I just don't think the feats add up to say Neji > Lee.
Yea and Choji/Shika were built up pretty nicely in p1 too especially Choji was straight ready to be bossing in P2 based on these scans.Nice post. Yeah, I hate how close to irrelevant K11 (besides team 7) became in part 2. I think the only ones who got the proper development in relation to part 1 was Chouji and Shikamaru.
Yes, struggling to keep up.1.Struggling to keep up.
2.Shocked and not prepared at how fast Naruto had become in mere seconds, after just getting hit by 64 palms, which should incapacitate you.
Choose 1.

If he was "struggling to keep up" he wouldn't have been able to clash with Naruto as seen in the above scan. You also left out the other scans that show him following Naruto's movements quite easily. Naruto only caught him off guard when he Blitzed him straight forward, which led to him not being able to complete Rotation in time.
On Topic: Chuunin Exams Lee would win against Neji at that point. He would also beat everyone else at that point besides Gaara.
I honestly think Kishi initially had a lot of plans for Neji. I mean, after the time skip, out of all the K11 HE was the only one to become Jonin. That tells me early on in P2 Kishi had not forgotten about the genius of Hyuga clan and had more in store for him. I can't say what happened much after that though.Yea and Choji/Shika were built up pretty nicely in p1 too especially Choji was straight ready to be bossing in P2 based on these scans.

I FEEL EVEN Choji and Shika WERE MEANT FOR MUCH More than wat we got , because Kishi seemed to have been setting up a Mission based adventure in P2 which could've opened doors for much better character progression that could've lead to a heap of badass story lines with all kinds of Jutsus.
But when it came to the Neji and Lee Dynamic it was just straight savage in the making due to the rivalry + their contrasting powers and skill level not to mention the raw epicness of Taijutsu's Strongest Styles going head to head with both fighters giving their all. Would've made for a hell of a plotline , both Lee and Neji were sidelined since u cant give one side to much panel time without giving the other since kishi already had a whole dynamic taking place in P1..
Read my edited post, i always seem to leave some stuff out after i post my initial post. My point is, he followed Naruto fine in KN0 and was only caught off guard in one scenario(When he blitzed him straight forward). You shouldn't assume he was struggling to keep up with Naruto off of that one time. Especially when Naruto should have been half dead by that point, and magically got stronger and faster in mere seconds. We all know its much different having Intel on someone's abilities than by not having any at all.Yes, struggling to keep up.
Matching someone in speed doesn't mean that it's easy for you. The point is that before Neji was negging Naruto, and then after his speed boost Neji was all-in.
Also, I don't understand your claim here - "Naruto only blizted Neji when he blitzed Neji!"
Yeah, that's sort of my point.
