They need to have a serious main threat. I thought they were doing this with the last film, but then Jean happened. Fox is making the same mistake, trying to do a Dark Phoenix movie by building it up this way.

I think they'll open the door for the next movie and try to do a full out movie for the final one for the trilogy. They would be smart to just do the Jean Gray clone or use Mister Sinister for the connection to both Summer's brothers or their father.
