Sasuke has a combat style revolving around the sword, called kenjutsu. Without it, he can't use that. And if you're going to make such a claim, you must back it up with canon feats.

They've clashed three times: He didn't have the option of a sword in two, and only had a quick Chidori-Rasengan encounter in the other.

Edo Madara stabbed Hashirama in SM about seven times with black rods. Imagine how much faster SM Madara was at full power and Sasuke straight up overpowered and stabbed him in CQC. He barely stopped his precious Hashirama-breast from spraining a leak.
