We all know sasuke is pretty much the best at fighting with kenjutsu. That being said in straight kenjutsu only matches(no jutsus allowed, coating swords with elements/chakra is fine) who could give him a tough time or possibly even beat him?
IMO the closest would be bee and mifune, maybe some swords men of the mist, what do you guys think? Discuss!
Early part 2 Sasuke's "no kill" policy probably contributed greatly to his kenjutsu skills. Have you ever played a sport or a game and deliberately handicapped yourself? You hone skills that you might have otherwise overlooked because of the handicap and then when you remove your limits everything seems easy by comparison.
Probably a huge reason why Lee/Gai became so skilled in taijutsu. They wore weights to nerf speed, which meant they couldn't simply rely on speed alone. Set harsh endurance challenges for themselves if they didn't meet targets (raised stamina) and could only use the gates under very specific conditions. This contributed hugely to them becoming all-round tajiutsu masters, rather than simply excelling in one area.

Only Kinshiki would give him a bit of a hard time. Bee's stabs failed to overpower an injured Sasuke as he was quicker than him to run the Raiton through his body before the stabs even went through. And that was during his MS days. A fully healthy EMS Sasuke (with no chakra taxing factors from MS) defeats Bee.

Bee did beat him in a kenjutsu contest. Mifune maybe could. Mangetsu likely would. When you say no jutsu at all does that count as Suigetsu's hydrification tech? If not then Suigetsu might be able to too.

Keep telling yourself that buddy Bee won that fight. I don't recall Mifune drawing on Sasuke but we'll move on. Mangetsu has one feat and that one feat is enough to hold him in contention, he's the only person in the Naruverse known to be able to wield all 7 swords of the Mist and that includes Samehada who is very picky on who is allowed to use it. Suigetsu wouldn't have to be superior in kenjutsu to win the kenjutsu match if his hydrification tech is still allowed that's why I asked. Actually never mind I just remembered OP said they can add elements to their blades so Sasuke could have electric on his blade.

Hmm yea no hydration, the only chakra usage allowed would be sword enhancements... and the sharingan of course. I was think mangetsu as well but he's pretty feat less in the manga

Bee himself admits he didn't win the fight. He himself admits his stabs failed. But, I guess I should agree with you and not the manga. He did during the summit and failed. He has the fastest draw in the manga.

Bee has him matched and surpassed on movements and stops his ration blade
I didn't wanna post each page because it's literally the entire chapter

I'll leave these two pics though and notice the wording Death bares it's fangs, that's Kishi telling us Bee was gonna win.

Annnnnd Suigetsu saves him. Discussion over, Sasuke lost 1v1 against Bee in Kinjutsu in that instance.

He was so done, he needed Karin just to get him back in the fight

So explain again how Bee didn't win that match? And you can see his stabs worked since Sasuke is healing a wound in that panel. Sasuke even resorted to ninjutsu while Bee stayed with his swords.
