Just had the weirdest thing EVER happen. It was like Inception. I went to sleep (in real life). Soon I was dreaming. The dream started getting kind of weird and scary, and subconciously my mind woke me up. The thing is though, I wouldn't actually wake up. I knew I was in a dream but it wasn't subconcious anymore, I was literally using my actual concious mind to fight out of the dream. It was like moving through thick mud, there were like 5-6 times where I opened my eyes in the dream and thought I was awake, only to have something weird happen and I'd have to fight it again. Eventually, I focused REALLY hard, and after doing like 7 times of "waking up" in a row in my dream, I forced my eyes open in real life and broke it. It was the WEIRDEST feeling of my life.

That's exactly what it is, sleep paralysis. Your mind feels awake but your body won't respond to its commands, that is, until you muster enough will power and jerk yourself out of it. It's really trippy once you make it out:yay:

Hmmmmmm, a weird lucid dream. I'd like to have a lucid dream someday, but I'll prefer a pleasant one. (I do have false awakenings tho)

That happened to me to a long time ago when I was a kid. It was scary I knew I was sleeping but I couldn't wake up. Sometimes I am in between being unconscious and conscious like when I'm near falling asleep or close to wakening up.

Yup, had a very similar one this year too. The human mind is very fascinating.

You were in Izanami

Naturally. Solo'd AGAIN.

It was really, REALLY trippy. Because for a few seconds I didn't realize anything was wrong. Until, of course, I realized I was in a hospital full of Garfields, and then I started fighting Jon (No shit, this is actually how I realized one of the times that it was still a dream Lol).

Young Man you're Body is Showing you a Sign that you should Stop Jerking off to kakashi.

Never.

No shit i thought in storm 4

Psht you know what I meant. Wanted people to be clear it wasn't part of the dream.

Another victim of itachis genjutsu

AND I BROKE IT. Sharingan?...

Weird I once woke up and couldn't see for a minute.

Sort of the same for me, too. I felt like my eyes were open, only I knew they weren't seeing what they were SUPPOSED to see.

It's a really weird experience, it scared the crap out of me when it happened

Scary in the moment, but really cool in hindsight.

There are many ways to interpret dreams. Some believe they are made up of cognitive processes you've had throughout the day, and your brain is trying to organize and store/dump these memories. Others find commonality between people's dreams, which revolve around symbolism (i.e., Freudians might say a train entering a tunnel has sexual meaning; Jungians have certain ancient Archetypes that serve evolutionary purpose). They may represent conscious or subconscious thoughts. I tend to side with Adlerians, who believe that the primary meaning behind a dream is the emotion you are experiencing during the dream. Often the actual dream events are meaningless, but the emotions are your mind's way of processing the feelings you've been experiencing; either consciously or subconsciously. Some people also believe that dreams are simply neural firings that cause random brain activity while in REM sleep. Like everything, it is probably some mix of all theories.
