How badly was Gaara nerfed?

After his tailed beast was extracted does he still retain the same power level? It seems as though he has had a massive restriction due to it

I don't think he got weaker still manipulates sand he just doesn't have the tail beast defense and he should of inherited magnet release to manipulate metal sand so I would say he's actually stronger now, also being a jinchuuriki brings the hazard of powerful opponents coming after you.

I like to think he wasn't nerfed in terms of skill, but rather sheer power. It seems plausible like that anyway.

Gaara was in no way nerfed. He couldn't even control his tailed beasts anyway.

He wasn't nerfed, but Gaara's feats didn't align to how Kishimoto depicted Gaara at all. Realizing that, he likely had to put a damper on Gaara's performance to make Gaara's strength appear more "realistic". He was never nerfed, it's only that people had a false conception of how strong Gaara was based on Kishimoto's poor representation of Gaara's feats.
