I can't accept that Orochimaru has became a good boy ! I have a theory :

1- First , we need to remember Orochimaru's true dream :

You must be registered for see images

" Becoming an ultimate being "

And we already know who is the " ultimate being " .... It's Kaguya .


2- So , Orochimaru must obtain both Hagoromo ( Indra(Sasuke) + Ashura(Naruto)) and Hamura (Toneri or Hinata)
...........................
So , Orochimaru must take these bodies :
Sasuke (Sasuke one shots)
Naruto (Oro gets rekt)
Hinata (Naruto would kill him)
Toneri
....................
As you see , Orochimaru can only take Toneri's body .

3- Orochimaru can make artificial bodies (He did same thing to create Shin ) :

You must be registered for see images

So , Orochimaru can take Toneri's DNA and create an artificial Otsutsuki ... And after years , he can take his body ....

Up to now , I used manga facts to prove Orochimaru's plans ....

They're like twins !
I think Orochimaru used Toneri's DNA to create Mitsuki . ( He went to Moon and stole Toneri's blood )
And this is a good reason why we don't know who Mitsuki's mother is .

More proof :
Mitsuki's name isn't snake-related ! It's related to the Moon (where Toneri lives) :

美月, "beauty, moon"
光月, "light, moon"
光希, "light, rare"
光揮, "light, wield"
光輝, "light, brightness"

Honestly I think Orochimaru turned over a new life, but he would go up as one of the worst villains of the series if he created his son just as another ploy to reach ultimate power, also make sense that he will secretly have his hands in future conflicts creating new sharingan people and mitsuki to orchestrate his own "moon plan"

I can't answer that but let's not forget that he is Orochimaru ! He could summon Hokages even when they were sealed !

well in one of the one-shots (maybe that of Mistsuki prestory) Oro's intentions seemed genuine. Also Oro seems to have come a long way from part 1 to Boruto series. In war arc it was hinted many times that he was turning over a new page when he said he had no longer any interest in Sasuke's body and only wanted to do his research. Your idea seems good in a conspiracy theory sort of way....making the original villain to be the villain of new story, also Mitsuki is quite similar to Oro when it comes to being a good shinobi though he seems supportive of Boruto...so anything is plausible
