Being friends with Kurama gave him the power to beat 6 tail beast (with help) but then we saw base Madara take on 9 tail beast without eyes and only used EMS/Sharingan powers. Sasuke being equal to Naruto at that time may have been able to do the same against the tail beast with help but it's clear than it's within Uchiha potential to take on the Tail beast.
