But he CAN take on Sasuke. He nearly killed him during their first encounter. And he nearly took Sasuke's head off the second time. Sasuke realized he needed backup for the third encounter though. Kinda like when he fought killerbee

If Momoshiki wasn't nearby, I really don't think it would've been that hard a battle though, since precisely what made Sasuke so restricted in the movie was Momo's ability to absorb Ninjutsu if he decided to step in....

Still think he could take him with Momo overwatching though, even if it ended up being high dif.

Doubt it. He had no idea that Momo could absorb ninjutsu in their first and second encounter until he told them about it. It's pure fanfiction if you think the he knew about it. We also don't know if he even fought Momoshiki in the snow dimension. Refer back to the part where Kinshiki could've sliced his head off, ETC.

Nearly killed him? Nothing of the sort.

They were on an even keel, and Sasuke wasn't even using the full extent of his abilities. Kinshiki was struggling with Choujurou and Kurotsuchi... Sasuke only had backup because Momoshiki was there.

Kinshiki is extremely fast so fire style or amaterasu won't work. He used lightning style which was the best choice in that situation because it enhanced his ninjutsu capability's.

And he WAS traveling around the dimensions as seen by the end of The Day Naruto Became Hokage OVA. How did they get there is the obvious question? Now, it could be something else, but those two are obviously Kaguya's fellow clansmen, Sasuke himself was able to tell so afterwards.

Them having the Rinnegan like he did, while unlikely, was still quite the possibility, and for not only Nagato who used its abilities extensively, but Madara, Kaguya and even Sasuke himself, the Rinnegan was always a tool to absorb chakra. Caution was to be required in battle.

That doesn't matter. If Kinshiki had a Rinnegan, it would have ended up being just as obvious as Momoshiki's...which is located on the palm of his hand. There is still the question of how they got there and the obvious fact that both these men are more likely than not Kaguya's clansmen than anything else. Them having the Rinnegan is a real possibility, and Sasuke simply might have not wanted to risk it.
