The shonen with the best writing, best world, best fights, etc. If One Piece is the best of them, I'm not reading any of them, because One Piece is shit.

Currently?
Probably Magi or Gintama. There's also HunterXHunter (if you consider that "ongoing" tbvh troll streak too OP).

Also don't be too quick to judging shonen based on the few bad mainstream titles.

What about Akame Ga Kill? I saw an episode of it on Toonami and it looked pretty awesome. What's wrong with it?

Okay then...

1. HxH
* 2. Toriko
3. Magi

* Note that Toriko doesn't attempt character development but when it does it's good. That being said it could use character development with it's main cast. Magi is much better in that regard. However, I placed Toriko above Magi since it's world is far better than Magi's and has a cool backstory to it with great foreshadowing tied into it. I personally, like the fights more in Toriko than Magi. The artwork isn't that amazing in Magi IMO.

Gintama takes this neg diff.
Sorachi sensei knows how to develope characters and he does that with all of them, not just the main characters. That is why Gintama has the best cast out there.

Main manga or Zero? Cause zero might be seinen if I remmeber correctly

But yeah anyway no, Imo akame ga kills characters lack depth and panel time, plus the plot and the characters seemed forcefully shaped in a way convenient for the MC that one could literally telll who would die next and for what reason. I ultimately dropped it.

This being said, there were some well developed characters like lubbock,Najeda esdeath, Izou etc....akame herself was decent but again prettty one dimensional. It also seems like the manga will end just exactlylike the anime (which was so shitty that I couldn't stop skipping the last 3 episodes or so)

All this is just my opinion, go check it for yourself I'd suggest

So basically the best 3 have major flaws that prevent them from being completely recommendable.

Hunter x Hunter: author isn't committed to the weekly schedule often taking long breaks
Toriko: very silly premise and unsophisticated characters
Magi: uninteresting world and mediocre artwork

I wouldn't call what you listed major flaws, aside from HxH since I could easily see that putting someone off. The premise of Toriko is over the top and at the same time unique. I could only see this being a flaw for someone that's quick to judge/ignorant. It does have many characters that are simple but also a few characters that are very well written. It could use character development to make it better for the main cast but at the same time reading Toriko for just it's character development or expecting a lot is dumb. It's made clear from the start. Also, it's not like the characters are underdeveloped either so that's good.

Magi's world isn't uninteresting. In fact, it's good. I was just saying in comparison to the Toriko world, it's nothing that incredible. The artwork is decent/good but again nothing amazing. Not a true flaw, but rather just my preference.

I'm surprised you did not mention Jojo.

I couldn't if I wanted to. JoJo isn't a shonen anymore. It's seinen with part 7 and onward...if I could mention it then it'd be #1.

Haven't read Magi in a while but I will say this, Morgiana is by far my favorite female character in any manga or anime I have ever seen. Her character is just so well written it's hard not to love her!

As far as shonen goes I'd have to pick between Magi and Toriko (a bit biased) but as far as manga in general goes, I'd have to say Vagabond, hands down even though I stopped reading that as well. Come to think of it I gotta start back reading those two manga along with a couple others asap.

I don't like OP that much either, but hxh, nanatsu no taizai is good but does'nt have a deep story (but the fights are really good), recently started maghi so I can't really say, then maybe Tokyo Ghoul or parasyte (I love parasyte cuz how realistic it was)

One Piece probably takes this, but considering the sh*t ton ammount of chapters it had to develop its characters, I don't find it that surprising.

And that is also biased AF coming from me, but I'll point out to Boku no Hero Academia...character is one of its strengths, IMO.
