You're right. She totally didn't save her ass, wreck Sasori's puppet, trapped him at the end and do pretty much everything Chiyo wasn't capable of doing at the given time. (Hence why Chiyo used her in the first time.)

(1) Sakura countered Sasori's poison, without that antidote defeating Sasori would've been impossible. (2) Chiyo didn't have the destructive power to destroys Sasori's puppets, admittedly the first puppet Hiruko. (3) Sakura's fist repelled the iron sand. (4) Chiyo admitted herself they Sakura didn't need her assistance due to her reading and understanding Sasori's attack pattern.

Super true! She got a good start in part 2 but sadly lost momentum, it's shameful becuase that fight showed her potential but I would like to remind you that she was the first K-11 member to face an Akatsuki level ninja and be successful.

It was only the one episode. The rest of that arc was some of the worst animation this series has EVER had.
