How end of Kaguya arc could have been better

Ok so in this page in the first panel have him reaching for his eyes, then in the reaction panels with Sasuke and Kakashi remove those and instead show Obito tearing his eyes out before they begin to crumble away. He tells Naruto to make sure these get to Kakashi.

Now blood drips from Obito's eyesockets. The fact he's now blind makes his statement that Naruto helped open his eyes ironic, but artistically so. We get a shot of him with his now empty sockets as he says this. Things continue as they do until he finally crumbles into dust and Naruto blitzes Kaguya. Naruto apparently forgot about the eyes in his emotional turbulence. We don't get to see Obito in the afterlife, as that is kind of cheesy, instead we get a single panel upon his death of Rin symbolically pulling his hand as to whisk his soul away into the afterlife. Instead of Obito warping his soul into Kakashi to temporarily give him the sharingan Kakashi notices the eyes in the pile of ash and thanks Obito for this last gift.

When Kakashi's Susanoo finally appears Naruto is surprised but then remembers Obito asking him to give the eyes to Kakashi, he tells Sasuke that Kakashi now has Obito's eyes. In the end Kakashi gets to keep the eyes, but is extremely drained from overusing the sharingan, allowing Sasuke and Naruto to have their final battle uninterrupted.

now that you mention it, i think the sole reason kishi didn't give kakashi the eyes permanently was because then he would have to come up with some bs idea to make sure kakashi doesn't interfere in VOTE 2.

Ultimately it would be the same. Kakashi can't even use his own one sharingan without extra chakra from Naruto. That tells me he won't be able to use both in battle properly. They eye's served their purpose in the war and won't even be useable so whether it be permanent or temporary doesnt have an effect on the plot.

And he would've ended up overshadowing Naruto and Sasuke.

We couldn't have that now, could we?

Personally, at the time the fight ended, it had really felt like it was just getting started. Sasuke barely did anything other than contribute his Seal, Naruto never unveiled his Bijuu Mode or looked like he was really breaking a sweat, and Kaguya herself didn't show many powers. Basically, the "big three" players in the fight were pretty underwhelming. And considering that VotE2 was so short that Naruto and Sasuke didn't get a chance to show the full range of their powers, it really struck me as lame that the Kaguya fight ended so quickly.

That's just what happens when the two final fights have to occur within a mere two volumes, sharing space with the wrap-up stuff like goodbyes / other transitional chapters.

Only reason Kakashi could use Sharingan so well was because Obito six paths chakra possessed his whole body. He fought as a true uchiha for that one battle only.
