I didn't bother to watch the video or click the links but I read the whole post.

What I took from this is that East Asians are smartest, white people are not far behind, and blacks are kind of far behind, with height and myopia being indicators of IQ.

If this is the case, I think the left probably would fear this because of people trying to sterilize the dull, exterminating groups, etc., or do you think it's just because the left doesn't want to cut back welfare programs?

IMO, I don't really think the poor should be rewarded for having kids in the first place, as I do know people on welfare who do nothing but raise like 4-5 kids. I'm not sure where the Muslim population comes into this IQ thing though since you didn't really mention studies of height, myopia, or IQ. I understand the whole Muslims on welfare get a lot of kids and the whole Islam is a threat to the west thing though.

That is the correct ordering - a more precise ordering goes like this:

1. Ashkenazi Jews who have an average score of about 110 on IQ tests

2. East Asians who score around 106 on average

3. Whites whose score is defined as 100

4. Middle-Eastern populations score in the high 80s

5. Black Africans score around 70 in Africa (African-Americans are a different population - they have some White admixture).

Myopia is intrinsically correlated with IQ and though the correlation isn't even all that high, the evidence suggests that some (but not all) of the genes for the two traits overlap (some of the genes responsible for myopia also raise IQ) and the rates of myopia follow the IQ hierarchy more or less exactly.

Height is slightly correlated with IQ in males but the correlation is extrinsic which means that the genes for the two traits are completely different (height genes and IQ genes are separate things) hence why East Asians and Jews tend to be shorter than Blacks despite the IQ gap.

These are actually only two physical variables I took from Jensen for brevity and there are many, many more (several dozens, in fact). Another example is physical maturation rate (related to how quickly you reach puberty) which Shockley mentioned - East Asians mature slowest and Blacks fastest - and the slower the maturation rate, the higher the IQ.

Ashkenazi Jews are an anomaly and there is a compelling theory (by Cochran et al) that suggests that their high-IQ is the result of natural selection only in the past 1000 years or so.

As for the motivations of the left, I think you are on the right track. The idea that humans are genetically unequal is a deeply disturbing one - honestly I wish it weren't true - but my wishing the world to be a certain way will not make it so.

The odd thing is that this issue is only explosive when people talk about groups that tend to underperform compared to Europeans (mostly African and Muslim world derived peoples).

When Gregory Cochran et al came out with their paper arguing that the Ashkenazi Jewish advantage in intelligence was not only hereditary but a product of natural selection, media outlets all over the west reported it as if it were just another interesting scientific theory (heck, some even bordered on celebration) - e.g. this nonchalant report by the very leftist economist newspaper:

There was a documentary on political correctness in the SJW-land of Norway and in the episode on IQ, though some other IQ researchers were dismissed as extremists, Cochran and his theory were again portrayed nonchalantly:
