Anyone here been to Trade School or Community College?

If so, can you tell me why you chose to go to either of those schools? And why you didn't choose other options (university). Can you also tell how beneficial it is?

I have been to Community College and University. The major advantage to CC is you can complete all your 1st/2nd year gen eds at a fraction of the cost. Then transfer to University to complete you degree.

So basically it's an alternative option to achieving the same thing? Then why doesn't every do that? Even rich people wouldn't want to waste money right? Or maybe I'm just missing something.

you can benefit by taking classes if youre still in HS.

if not, then they will certainly save you a lot of money. But you better get out ASAP.

what you should really do is that go attend a university, take your core classes for your major.

and take the general classes in a community college. they're waay easier and cheaper than your simple class in a university.

just make sure and check with your counselors (in both community and university) that the credits transfer

Yeah I went to community college first. You save lots of money and you get transfer scholarships before you head to University.

It depends on what your goals are.

Community college can prepare you for whatever major you want to pursue when you get to university, and you can get apprenticeship which is like trade school.

Trade school prepares you better for a job.

Either higher institute of education (community college) or work experience (trade school).

blame the administrators and classism

there's a stigma surrounding CC about how it offers lower quality education when it actually simply varies from school to school (and honestly professor to professor). it's a societal issue and i reckon it won't be fixed anytime soon, really

anyway, taking your general courses in community college is smarter than going to a 4 year school right off the bat, and certainly a money-saver like others have stated

i never went to a trade school but, you can take classes like cooking or message therapy or computer design and still go to high school , so if you want to find a career it helps get you better prepared.

for example cooking class : you bake food, then they sell the food at the school .

I am going to a community college to get my basics out of the way while im working a job to save up for my three year degree at a university. the community college is basically my choice in order to save money in the long run.
