Magi anime v manga

I'm not asking exactly what is different as that may lead to spoilers I just wonder if anyone here knows or heard of a reason that the anime Magi-Labyrinth of Magic is so different from the first 2-3 chapters of the manga. Anyone who has read and seen it care to weigh in? Also how did you like them and which did you like more anime or manga?

Side question for the anime - Has anyone watched the dub and how does it hold up? I know most here dislike dub but recent dubs are much better than the early ones. Baccano! for example has some of the best VA'ing and is one of the few where I prefer the dub over sub, curious if anyone feels that way for this shows dub or not.

Dubs are pretty good too.
No they are not much different. In anime, they made it orderly. First they introduce Alibaba, then Aladin. But, if you read manga and then watch anime, you'll find anime little rushed here and there. Manga have more information than anime.

Also, you should start watching/Reading Magi-Sinbad No Bouken for Sinbad's story.

Yeah the first chapter is different but it doesn't matter since the changes are not that significant

I got to the part where we see Sinbad's true form for the first time, is the anime good after that? I believe that's the second series.

Adore the manga but never could get into the anime. Should do before the Summer ends.

Where I'm at now they're at Ali-baba's hometown and we've seen Sid's adult form from the start. You may be watching the Sinbad one(are you watching on Netflix by chance) I'm just getting to ep 12 or 13 in the first season - Labyrinth tbh it's been good but it's not really one of the ones where I find myself telling people you gotta watch this one.

They're probably not too significant but they are a bit odd. They intro Ali-Baba first then when you meet the first group from the manga Aladdin makes a reference to how he met them in a previous trip? Morgiana(who I haven't come across in the manga yet) takes over Aladdins spot in that story in the anime. Also Ali-Baba was portrayed as a slave in the anime to that wine dealer but the manga implied he was just a driver and had no prior connection to the wine dealer. Those are the few I noticed. It seemed like the first 3 episodes were a mixing of the first few chapters.

The biggest thing I noticed like I mentioned to Passerby was Ali-Baba's relation to the wine dealer and the melon girls.
