What can them puppets do to gaara's sand defense though, From memory none have the ability to bust through gaara's defense if he just encases himself with sand like he did against deidara, Nor do they have the speed to get past his auto defense.

The only puppet i can see gaara struggling and losing against in the 3rd kazekaze puppet.

Not sure, Gaara's defense could probably protect him from all those puppets and poison he could evade going airborne. I think Sasori would pull a trick the way Deidara did to catch Gaara

He did and he claimed he defeated many powerful opponents with it. But the country destroyer was the army he had.

No....No...why are people saying Sasori would win...There is a reason Deidara went after gaara. Deidara is a long range fighter and his explosive techniques are more effective against sand than poison needles (lol). Plus Deidara can go airborne.

Sasori can't do any of that. Even if he summons a thousand puppets he still has to control them from the.....ground.

If the fight ever gets too intense, Gaara could always hide in his sand cocoon which has taken quite a beating before if I recall. Nothing Sasori has in his arsenal could get past it except maybe the 3rd kazekages iron sand. Gaara can also increases the sands density to his liking. I think Gaara's sand defense was able to withstand powerful techniques like deidaras miniature bombs, chidori, Kimimaro's bone spear, and even a giant meteorite (with help from ohnoki though).

Also Gaara can control massive amounts of sand for example he can create a sand tsunami. He could easily smash all of Sasori's puppets with the amount of sand he can control.

Plus the only reason Deidara survived his little battle with Gaara was because his bird was fast enough to outspeed gaaras sand. But he still lost an arm. How much more like Sasori who can't destroy his cocoon, outspeed his sand, fly, or really do anything lose?

Sasori would have no choice but to threaten to kill citizens. In a straight up fight Gaara wins. Feel free to prove me wrong.

They said it's a 100. To be honest with you right now...
All Sasori needs to do is use sand clones or magnetic sand clones to duplicate those 100 puppets and he's set to slay.

Well if he gets his 3rd eye high enough while keeping pressure on Sasori and his puppets, it should be relativity safe depending on how high/far the puppets can do and if they have limited range and how far away from sasori they can actually get. The main problem is that sasori isn't as good or strong as deidara when it comes to aerial combat as far as i know and that's the main advantage gaara has over him. (out side of using the kazekage puppet, assuming the 3rd kazekage can using his sand to fly like gaara can also)

By Iron tail i assume you mean with his Hiruko puppet?, if so it shouldn't pose much a threat to gaara's sand, If Sasori gets close enough to attack Gaara with it in the first place, Gaara could just crush the tail or encase the whole puppet in sand while sasori's inside it and crush him along with it. Staying in Hiruko would be a bad idea for him.

As for his parent's puppets, Chiyo had them not sasori but they would suffer from the same problem as the other puppets shown, Their weapons are just meh in front of a defense like Gaara's outside of the 3rd kazekage with the puppets he has shown in cannon, None are really a threat to gaara's sand defense, The only problem is their numbers.
I'm sure out of his like 300 Human puppets he has at least a few that can used like Raiton or Fuuton to bust his defense but plot nerfed him so he couldn't show how powerful the bulk of his human puppets are out side of the 3rd kazekage.
