From what I have seen, the most hotly debated topic on this forum are pairings and how they are unhealthy. I agree that both the pairings are unhealthy and let's not debate which is more cancerous than the other. Would you have been happy if :-
1) Sasuke:- On his travels, found someone he could connect to and fell for them. A total stranger. He has a lot of baggage, so starting with someone who was not his world, would be a whole lot better. That would make sense, considering they didn't see his psychopathic tendencies and still loved him after seeing it. Rather they saw the "transformed" Sasuke and fell in love with him and are able to share his pain.
2) Hinata:- Recognises that although Naruto cares about her as a friend, but does not share her feelings. So she moves on and finds someone who does love her and who she loves as well. Idk, but Neji could be alive in this scenario.
3) Naruto:- Considering that being a Hokage takes so much of his time, he decides to forego his family life and decides to dedicate himself fully to the village and ninja community. Maybe takes a leaf out of the book of his sensei, and smashes random chicks occasionally, but nothing time consuming.
Naruto and Sasuke end up living like Kakashi and Gai, later in their life...
4) Sakura:- Idk, she just disappears or dies from cancer maybe
Do you like these and if not then what would be your ideal scenaios?
