You can't call it coincidence because the same brothers that owned Minato got owned by the other pair of bothers (Ay by Sasuke and Bee by Itachi). Minato being owned by the weaker pair says alot about him being incomparably more skillful than Naruto. The A>B and B>C therefore A>C logic sometimes work in Naruto as in this case. Itachi and Sasuke > Naruto > Ay and Bee > Minato.

Tried to FTG kunai strike Ay, and it failed because Bee already read into what he was doing and countered before he could lad the attack.

That's not how a fight works. The only thing that was being solo'd or owned was minato's tactics because they failed. Even though he himself outrightly said he can't fail he did.
