There's no doubt that people could live without it. It is not water or oxygen. Would there be peace without it? No. Atheists perpetuate human misery as well. Suffering is a human condition.

It's not really on topic, but yes. Perhaps not equivalent to the schooling required for it. Most jobs do not pay like they once did. Even psychiatry jobs (which is a M.D.) do not pay as well anymore compared to required education. You might be better off becoming a plumber or electrician. They make great money without the high cost of education.
