I disagree, cops are intimidating without guns too. There was a person that got people at resturants to take their clothes of and touch other people sexually because he simply told them he was a cop, he was lying but since they thought he was a cop they did those things anyway.

If a person that is not a cop has a gun people will be scared of him but not intimidated by him he will not gain respect for that but people will think he is stupid and crazy. You don't get power from having weapons, Kim Jon Un has weapons and people still makes fun of him.
