First off, I've seen less obvious bait attached to the hook of a fishing rod.

Secondly, from reading into the context, I think he actually means Gay as in homosexual rather than Gay as in something bad. Pejorative? Yeah, sure, but this video is not a very good way to illustrate the issue on that thread. It kinda misses the main point in the way I see it.
