Used to be in my top 3. I got over him but he's still rad and has a great personality/hinted backstory.

did you like what Kishi did to his personality in the Sasuke fight. To me it seemed like Kishi made him super butthurt from the Itachi fight so he can have Deidara kill himself.

Nah I liked that part of the character. I too disliked Uchiha at the time and thought somebody finally calling them out on their smugness and 'you're weak without that lucky eye jutsu of yours, you got lucky' stuff was good. Makes sense that somebody like Deidara was a short fuse. He wasn't mean to be some smouldering look silent type badass.

His edo revival with Kabuto and Versus Onoki/Sai was a lot of fun too. I loved him in the Chikara arc.

To be fair I think I just like loudmouth characters in general, I didn't like him much in his introductory arc because he although his abilities were cool- he just acted very blandly and mysteriously had insane CQC and agility which doesn't seem like a skill he should deservedly have.

I think you're mis-remembering that fight. He didn't come unprepared he came under prepared, there's a difference and he didn't beat the shit out of Gaara in a desert he distracted him by attacking the village and then took out Gaara while he was busy. No Suna= no win for Deidara.

My bad, he came under-prepped...
And he won by mixing his explosives in Gaara's sand, Suna or no Gaara was done for after that. Because behind his sands, Gaara is just another human not even a fodder shinobi.
