whats your definition of win? Naruto made pain give up achieving total victory with no casualties....do I think jiriya could do that? No but if he had perfect sage mode I believe he could beat him one on one.

I think he'd get almost all of them, but the only reason I hesitate to say he'd win is because Naruto's perfect sage mode wasn't good enough. If not for Hinata's intervention and Kurama's taking over, Naruto would have lost the fight. So I hesitate to say he'd win, but i understand Jiraiya would have done better than Naruto did before needing some help from someone else

I think people underestimate shinra tensei like if pein led with that would Jiraya even have come close to winning?

Jiraiya did arguably better anyway. He beat all the Pains present when they had 100% chakra where SM Naruto ended up beaten by the Peins present there despite prep, intel and Pein having just destroyed a village. It's not surprising when you consider Jiraiya is massively more experienced and versatile.

OT: The outcome wouldn't change because Nagato still wouldn't present all Six Paths for knowing that they would probably be beaten, as he said himself about even Imperfect SM Jiraiya.

I actually agree with this. He might have faired a bit better but in the end he still would have died. He was operating on No Intel for Pain. Even win Ma and Pa Frog attached to him he began to get overtaken by 3 or the 6 paths. With perfect Sage Mode he might have have defeated on or 2 of them but once all 6 paths stepped in the result would have been the same.

I guess what we need to know is if Jiraiyas perfect SM gives him durability. His arm was ripped right out of the socket, I doubt Pein could do that to Naruto. Naruto also displayed better sensing abilities than Jiraiya, if he had all the advantages Naruto had, I think his chances increase quite a bit, but there's the whole Intel ordeal

Well I believe Jiraiya would've had one stipulation that Naruto didn't.

Chibaku Tensei. I honestly doubt Pain would've used it in the Hidden Rain Village. On top of that give Jiraiya the same prep time (doesn't even need intel). Give him the same prep & he shits on Pain.

The outcome still would have been the same, Jiraiya lost because he didn't know Peins secrets.

Well Jyraiya had a LOT more jutsus at that time & the main reason he lost was because he didn't know Pain's secret or his techniques. Naruto did.

I think if Jyraiya had perfect Sage Mode in the Konoha Pain fight instead of Naruto he might have won

I did overlook the intel part, and that is a really good point. But wasn't Naruto only able to keep up sage mode because of his shadow clones in Frog Town? I know Jiraiya wouldn't be able to do this, so I still don't know if he would have won

But , if Jiraiya would have known Pain's secret , i am sure that Jiraiya would have beaten Pain.

And if Jiraiya don't known Pain's secret , but would have Perfect Sage Mode , he wouldn't have beaten Pain but we can imagine that Jiraya would have succeeded to flee and would have given some informations about Pain to Konoha.

And when Pain will attack Konoha , Jiraya , Tsunade , Kakashi , Sakura and Naruto will beat Pain because they would know Pain's secret.

A much better battle with same outcome, Pain was too much to handle even for a Sannin level shinobi...

Still loses. now if pain had the same restrictions he had against naruto, fair game. if he already had intel, he wins. imo

Old thread but Naruto had to use clones as an alternative to not having clones due to not supporting ma/pa thanks to Kurama. Jyraiya could last a lot longer than 5 minutes at a time because Ma & Pa were giving him sage chakra while he focused on using it. a bonus, it was a compromise. He couldn't use Ma & Pa for potentially infinite sage mode due to Kurama--Jyraiya could.

I know what you're saying, but do we know ma and pa give potentially infinite sage mode? I thought Jiraiya only used them because of his imperfect sage mode, and I thought pa only tried with Naruto because he wanted Naruto to be able to achieve sage mode while moving.

If they do give infinite sage mode then yeah I guess I have to say I see Jiraiya winning
