I don't judge my pokemon solely based on their designs. Even then, there's some neat looking pokemon for 7th gen. Also we haven't seen the final evolution of starters.
Alola Sandslash is awful, it'll get destroyed with a mach punch. XD The ability doesn't make up for it's weakness either so I don't see how Sandslash is an exception, it's the worst new form introduced in the video.
It's hard to explain. Of course games shouldn't be the exact same over and over again, but drastic changes aren't good either imo. But to each their own cup of tea.
I wish. After the glorious Ezio-trilogy, AC-games drastically changed their attitudes, mechanics and overall interests and that turned the franchise into crap. The mysteries vanished, together with well thought-out stories and interesting, believable characters.
The first-gen pokemon weren't anything that special, if you're talking about designs (which I'm assuming you are). Some of it was lazy and people just adore it because... nostalgia.

They didn't need to be special. In fact, they were pretty simple. Not over-the-top or "cutiefied" like the newer designs. It's not just nostalgia.
Up to the 3rd Gen, I agree. 4 and 5 have been okay, but 6 and now 7 have been relatively terrible so far.
