Why Kishi said he couldn't see the manga going without Sasuke is because of Sakura..

He already implemented Sakura in to the story and there was no way to get rid of her without killing her..

Well Kishi is a smart person so, he found a way to get rid of her... That's right. Through Sasuke.

If Sasuke was not in the manga Sakura would have chased Naruto to the end of the world with her childish love.

Sasuke was needed to help Naruto get rid of Sakura.

Otherwise Naruto wouldn't have had the chance of marrying such a queen like Hinata right ?
