They are not equal. Naruto is better by far:

1. Naruto fought in the war since the start - Sasuke barely fought 5 hours in the war.
2. Naruto was exhausted and used tons of chakra to distribute to the entire Ninja Alliance - Sasuke barely used his chakra.
3. Naruto was also physically exhausted - Sasuke was barely physically exhausted.
4. Naruto fought without the killing intent (nerfed) - Sasuke fought with Killing intent (buffed)
5. Naruto was almost out of chakra and still managed to equal this: Sasuke stealing power from the bijuu.
6. Naruto was nerfed by plot and fell over when he missed his rasengan after they ran out of chakra. That was a 100% win for Naruto and it is a manga fact.
7. Naruto experience emotional distress seeing Neji and other friends dead.


Tell us more how Naruto the exhausted and holding back is equal to Sasuke who barely fought in the war and wanted to kill Naruto which gave him no restriction whatsoever on his powers.

Sorry if you didn't realize, but everything before fighting Madara is invalid since Hagoromo restored both of their chakra to equal amounts, albeit Naruto had chakra from the Tailed Beasts too.
