Yes he did, Obito stated he chose a successor on his deathbed and Hagoromo said he made the bijuu after Ashura inspired him to choose a successor which means he was paralyzed before dying because JuubJins cannot move once they're no longer the Juubi's host.

Furthermore, he never said he wasn't around, he clearly said Ashura's power bloomed to equal Indra's through hard training which means he witnessed Ashura getting stronger.

I'm not sure if you're being serious but even though EMS is the prior stage, it doesn't mean EMS is inferior to Rin'negan.

Hagoromo's and Indra had equally strong chakra. Indra just didn't have his life force, which he gave to Ashura. Indra would have killed Hagoromo if Ashura was not there.

Sasuke had ample time, and ample abilities to escape that situation, and even Madara said that he gave him a chance, and yet all he did was stare.

Sasuke was plot nerfed for that encounter so he could be gifted by Hagoromo.

Look, whatever it was the Limbo Hengoku Madara did, it was preventing him from reacting. In one way or another, he immobilized Sasuke and prevented him from using such techniques as Susanoo, probably by absorbing his chakra or something of the sort.

And I think you're his statement of him having ample time to do something too literally. It's more likely this is refering to Madara's earlier offer for Sasuke to join the "winning side", something he never did anything about.

Hagoromo said he was around to see Ashura match Indra's power. The only way that's possible is if he saw them battle. Simlply seeing someone train doesn't mean that you can tell they are equal to another perseon. You'd have to see them fight and how they use their ablities against one another to make a conclusion like that.

It's like saying beacause Naruto did SM training and became stronger and because Sasuke trained and awaked MS means that they were equal. It doesnt work like that

1. Limbo has never done so in the manga.
2. Even Preta path wouldn't absorb all of Sasuke's chakra to the point where he couldn't use a single ability.
And 3. Sasuke had no mention of anything other than not being able to move. Nothing about jutsus not working, nothing about chakra being taken.

Besides the fact that Sasuke had been in that exact situation before.

But he was, so pushing aside the "because plot" thing, there must be something behind it. It would have been just as easy for Madara to kill Sasuke before he could even realize Limbo had stopped him, but no, Kishimoto decided to have that dialogue before it. I don't think that's "just plot", I think there must be something behind it.

The OP clearly acceots filler as canon so I gave him that, in the episide battle continuing Hagoromo's story after the battle with kaguya he CLEARLY states that he would never use his Ninshu powers for battle again as it wrought so much destruction.

Also Hagoromo if you don't acceot filler as canon, is a monk and monks do not engage in physical altercations themselves unless absolutely necessary. Some abstain from fighting at all, I think a lot of members want Hagoromo to be some badazz sage that can kill and destroy anything and reshape the workd with an iron fist....The man is a monk not a street fighter character.
