It had nothing to do with Madara having the Rin'negan. Sasuke is an EMS user, and the sharingan grants you certain abilities that would make dying in a way like that unless you're 100% completely out of chakra impossible. Its the same thing as when Tobirama hit Izuna with Hirashin Giri, it's plot BS and anyone who's read the Manga knows such a thing exists so that the story could go a certain way but in reality the abilities of the character are changed in a way that they perform less than they should

For once in his entire existence on this sight, he's right.

Sasuke had ample time, and ample abilities to escape that situation, and even Madara said that he gave him a chance, and yet all he did was stare.

Sasuke was plot nerfed for that encounter so he could be gifted by Hagoromo.
