Actually, I think Shisui would've been the best option there. He has the potential and he has the genes, as long as Madara could find a way to break him completely, he would be perfect.

I didn't pick Shisui or Itachi cuz I don't think Madara would be able to break them. Shisui and Itachi both knew how the uchiha's were being treated and yet they were loyal. Danzo took Shisui's eye and yet he was loyal to the village till the end, same for Itachi, the guy sacrificed his entire clan his own life to save his village.
But if by some chance Madara lets say is able to manipulate Shisui then he'd have proven much useful with his KA plus a Hashi cell enhancement effectively negating the KA's long cool down period. Shisui could've easily manipulated the ninja world to achieve his goals without much violence imo.

Well, I don't think a younger Shisui would be as devoted to his ideals as his teenage self. Given the proper situation, I could see Madara using his manipulation to break him by having something happen to Itachi in a specific set of circumstances.

I don't think Shisui was as attached to Itachi as Obito was to Rin. Itachi despite knowing what Danzo did to Shisui sided with village and I think Shisui would've done the same if their places were interchanged. But I won't deny that under the right circumstances anyone could've been manipulated, but the amount of effort required is what will decide whether its worth it or not.

Im just using Itachi cause he was portrayed as Shisui's best friend, but everyone has someone. Whoever Shisui's was, Madara could've gotten to them. Wonder how things would've played out then...

I couldn't imagine sasuke being madara's apprentice look what obito was able to do as tobi and he used to be just goofy and happy go lucky guy. Just imagine what power hungry, vengeful genius would do, he will slaughter half of the manga characters including sakura for sure and i believe only ending would be naruto and sasuke dying together one for love and other out of hate.
