you are kidding right...he toyed with all 3 sannins working together...HE was the one who actually gave them the title of Sannin recognizing the fact that they were strong

Mifune was immune to his poison, Hanzo wasn't at his prime, I think he wanted to recreate the clash he and Mifune had plus he wanted to commit suicide/escape edo tensei instead of killing Mifune.
OP: He is easily a powerful ninja with all the hype he has, but we don't have much confirming that hype.

Sannin not being on their top is a bit debatable....given Oro wasn't immortal and Tsunade didn't have her 100 healings..Jiraiya i guess had the Sage Mode because in flashbacks he was shown training at a young age....His battle with Mifune isn't really a good comparison....i mean if we consider all the battles that Edo tesei had i guess none of them was fighting at their full power

Oro is one of the few who would've concocted an immunity to him so maybe 1v1 couldn't have won against snakeboi but Hanzo is on/above his level generally.

Hanzo didn't even remember who Mifune was so how you expect him to recreate a fight with a person he didn't remember?

Edo Nagato was at full power, Edo Itachi was at full power and Edo Madara was OP. The only reason the Sanins couldn't beat Hanzo was because they were yet to achieve their full potential. Nagato (Pein) killed Hanzo and the same Nagato commented that had Jiraiya known about the secrets of Pein then Jiraiya definitely would've won. So Hanzo was strong but he's overrated.

You understand this was literally decades and decades ago? Plus does that really affect the battle? If anything he clearly does remember and actually gives him more incentive to help him after he recalls the battle.

Well it shouldn't, I just posted it in response to your "what?". Still Hanzo is overrated as I said Pein defeated Hanzo yet admitted that he'd have lost to Jiraiya if Jiraiya had prior knowledge of his abilities.

...Pain was a collection of corpses. They had instant intolerance to Hanzo's main battle tactic which decides most of his battles. Dead bodies and edos are the worst matchup for him imaginable.

Not to mention they caught him with his pants down as a frail old man who hadn't fought in combat for likely decades in a tent. It's cool that people are talking about my #3 fav at all but overrated isn't the right word for him.

Jiraiya definitely. He said it himself.

Orochimaru as I stated up there likely could beat Hanzo due to being one of the few like Pain and Sasori to have a poison tolerance. He's still on the same level or slightly above generally.

And they had their summons which hints they're quite far into their lives- being about thirty. Regardless, I haven't mentioned the Sannin battle once, my proof is every mention and show of him instead as I listed above ^

I think Hanzo is placed up there with Saru & Danzo pre Hashi sharingan arm. I say that because Danzo was still collabbin with Orochimaru at the time & the Uchiha Massacre hadn't happen yet so Danzo was technically weaker then Saru. But in their era I think Hanzo could've beaten Danzo.

Hanzo fought but had escaped a Rinne user (Nagato) once but got caught later. While Danzo never encountered a Rinne & was defeated by a MS user. (Sasuke)
I'm not saying it makes a difference but it should hold somethin. Hell Hanzo kicked J-man,Tsunade & Orochimaru ass, something I don't think Danzo could've done...
