guys what do you think?
rayleigh was with luffy for only 1 year 6months
and in luffys flash back we see rayleigh there when he created king kong gun
thus it took him roughly 1 year 6 months to create king kong gun
so what did he do the remaining 6 months?
did he just increase his time limit for using gear fourth
or did he develop a new skill entirely?????

He should have a new skill, or at least a new move with bound man. Also, we don't know if that was 1yr 6months or just the first week of their training (I know realistically it would be at least months into their training).

I was gonna pretty much say this as well.

He may even have both, a completely new and different skill, and also another new move for his Gear 4th "Bound man" as well..

Gear 4th seems to be a weird place to stop. I do envision Luffy having a final gear (5th, which is a more climactic end). Especially considering he needed two bursts of gear 4th to put down a severely weakened Doffy. Hype puts guys like Kaido and the likes well beyond that spectrum of durability.

The thing with that though, is that Luffy doesn't have full control of gear 4th and can only utilise it for a short time whereby he gasses afterwards. If that's the case, then there's no way he'd have full control of a higher mode which would realistically have him breathing out of his ass even more. Who the hell knows.

Luffy did have Gear 2nd and Gear 3rd, BOTH up his sleeve at the same time too... so who knows.. he could very well have had Gear 4th and 5th in his arsenal since the time skip, but he might know that the consequences of Gear 5th are even worse, so he's saving it for literally his last option.

I don't think he's got any upgrades on Bound man, but i do think he'll have different versions of Gear 4th, apart from Bound Man.

Gear 5th, while a distinct possibility for future poerwups, is unlikely to be in his arsenal yet. Same for DF Awakening.
