Why was Akatsuki ramified into groups of two ??

I mean what was the exact reason they ramified the group ?? Why didn't they choose to fight together ???
Imagine ; Obito and Nagato and Kisame and Kakuzu fighting together ..... I think they could capture all tailed beasts in less than a day ...

There are a lot of plot issues with the Akatsuki.

Like why did they take years to gather money when Obito just could have teleported behind a bank vault?

Or why didn't Obito just teleport into Konoha and take Naruto?

Why didn't they all track down Naruto and kill Jiraiya in part 1?

I think Bringing attention doesn't even matter ... They could travel to parts of the world and capture all beasts in a day (using Obito's Kamui) and then seal those bijus in Gedo statue takes a long period (near 20 days) but still doesn't matter because they could seal them in Kamui dimension ....

To cover more ground plus traveling all together would have given their locations prty fast, even tho they were strong the Akatsuki wanted to stay in the dark while hunting the best, it took time and chakra to hunt them and take get the beast from there, remember it was hours of process.

@bold : They tavel by Obito's Kamui ... No one can get their location ... They are too strong and too fast and they can hunt a jinchuriki in less than 1 minute ....
Staying in dark doesn't matter when they can reach their goal so quickly ....
It takes hours of process but they could do sealing process in Kamui dimension ...

Plot aside, they seemed pretty intent on getting their goals meant, so even if one particular person is op for the job, there's no harm in having two, as well as smaller groups made it easier to go undetected, and lastly, these where all pretty untrustable guys, having 2 would allow at least hopefully one to report back had something gone wrong or one went rogue

To put them altogether would not only slow them down, but also draw attention to themselves. If that were their MO, the villages would've banded together and annihilated them. They can gather the Bijuu faster when split into teams too.

Well, at this point I think obito was perfectly content with where they where. Plus he used the name of madara to instill fear in the kage, honestly it almost seems like he was dating them to try and stop him together
