Lay's = Simba. both created in South Africa the bought by PepsiCo(Doritos too). You would find Pokémon tazos, Yugioh tazos etc inside when buying a pack.

Pogs was a physical game too. I looked em up and they were essentially the same thing except Tazos had a notch on them.

Having successfully marketed Ouma Rusks in the 1940s and 1950s, by 1955 the Greyvensteyn family were looking for ways to diversify their family business. In that year, Leon Greyvensteyn travelled to a food fair in Germany in search of ideas and met a man called Herman Lay – the co-founder of Frito-Lay, the largest chip company in the world. The two men struck up a friendship, and Leon travelled on to the USA where he saw a potato chip factory in action.

Yeah, it was a common knowledge growing up. But I just read in wiki, they were just friends.


I am not sure why USA didn't adapt the concept. They were rocking the thing back then. Pokémon Tazos had 3D effect

Who knows? Did they have Tazos makers like they had POG makers?

You took a blank POG and a peeled the paper off the top to expose the glue, place it in then slide any picture you wanted in the slot above so the image was in the circle and press it and it cut it and pushed it onto the POG. Once I got that most all my Pogs became home made lol, I had Looney Tunes, Beavis and Butt Head, Ren & Stimpy etc.
