Zoro at some point will surpass Mihawk.

The general consensus is that Mihawk is >= Shanks, as he holds the title of worlds strongest swordsman. Both of these guys are put in the admiral tier, but are generally perceived as stronger than most of them, despite being in the same tier.

So where does Zoro surpassing Mihawk put him by the end, and who do we compare him to? Is he above admiral level? I think he's still in the same tier as the aforementioned, but is still stronger. He beats them, but with extreme difficulty.

Since when was it general consensus Mihawk >= Shanks. It's actually the other way around. More people believe it's Shanks > Mihawk.

Well he's going to surpass Mihawk, but also he's going to be his parallel character of the story's strength at the end of the series, who is Rayleigh.

Zoro will be stronger than Mihawk but not vastly superior to the point where you can tell the difference in power levels. Keep in mind that Mihawk is one of the most hyped characters in One Piece, we don't know if Mihawk is even stronger than an admiral.

Well, Rayleigh, who happened to be Zoro's counter part from previous generation was mentioned in same breath as Whitebeard by Garp. So, Zoro will be on Luffy's level but slightly weaker.
