Did anyone else thought the byakugan was going to be redeemed?

I thought it would at first, but with no hyuga screentime in early shipuden I started to give up. Then neji died for a pairing, which still makes no sense nor was it referenced once, I completely gave up. Bolt and himi give me hope but it probably won't happen.

Yeah, my hope died but got revived when the otsutsuki villains had byakugan but only to have my hope die again.

No Byakugan literally had nothing else to show. It's an eye for insight that's it.

Byakugan had more than just having the best vision but each to their own.

It really didn't Byakugan was just an eye for insight. The techniques and stuff was made to compliment it.

Well, i felt that being able to manipulate the chakra network system could've been expanded on more. I feel like you're trying to justify kishi's neglect for it.

Well he could have expanded on the Hyuga in general and their taijutsu but Byakugan in general can't really have any other power's unless it's more insight.

Yeah, that would've been great but alas. Kishi picked to expand more on the sharingan & rinnegan instead. (Not saying that's a bad thing )

Because he gave them elements in DB 4 but they've shown nothing that suggests that they have it. So I would have liked to see them using it with their taijutsu.

Forget which chapter but somewhere in chunin exams it was stated that they could control chakrw flow or something, either increasing or stopping it. Gates are an result of chakra flow being increased dramatically. So something like that could have happened for the hyuga.
