I'd take the machine one over the zombie one. Machines aren't perfect and can fall victim to hacking attacks, a few well placed hit-and-runs, and can be disabled on a large scale via a EMP blast. Not only that, they'll probably need to be powered on a incredibly massive scale if they plan to wage war with humanity. Whats the first thing you and your eagtag group of rebels do? Thats right. Bombing power plants and targeting hydro dams.
