I'll go with the non-RP training. There are two ways we can do this training, either RP based where I will RP with a canon Gaara bio, or a basic, straight-forward training where we go from the explanation to techniques and whatnot without RP, it is up to you.
Sand release is a versatile KG that was introduced in the series by Gaara; it can be used for a large variety of things in both battling and RPing outside of battles. Part of what drew me to Sand was the large amount of canon techniques available, and how flexible they are when it comes to the imagination, along with the huge custom making potential that comes along with it. It's weak against water, and strong against earth and fire.Alright then. Tell me all you know about sand.
Ah, that makes sense (referring to it not being an actual KG). As for my favorite ones:Alright, while not much explanation presented, I like that you said your reasoning behind wanting the KG, which is good enough for me.
Sand is a really flexible element in the RP, you can use it to disguise, defend, attack or supplement yourself. There is little you can't do with Sand. One thing you got wrong, however, is that Sand is a KG. Sand is more or less a special element that a lot of Sunagakure shinbois were able to manipulate and use for their aid, although the only usage character with sand is Gaara on NB. It only requires infusing the sand with chakra and further manipulating it, you don't create your sand. In the anime, Gaara either used the sand on the terrain or from his gourd, or if he wanted to create sand, he would use the sand he already controlled to crush the soil and create more sand, although this new sand would be more hard to manipulate as it isn't pure sand, but that doesn't have any impact really on the RP.
Now, I want you to name me your three favourite techniques. Could be the favorite ones you have seen in the anime or just techniques you think will be the most beneficial for you.
Nice choices you have there. I have asked you to give me your three favorite techniques because that means these techniques will be the most techniques you use in combats, but that means that you will usually ignore the rest unless you are trying a new combo or just feeling fresh. We will start from the D-ranks as usual, but we will learn how each one of them will give us a similar result to one of the above techniques. You have chosen one defensive, one sensory and the greater sand technique that can be used in for all purposes, therefore for each technique we will see what type it is and what of the above can it give us.Ah, that makes sense (referring to it not being an actual KG). As for my favorite ones:
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user will release a special type of sensory sand across a terrain and then upon contact with an enemy target the sand can alert the user of the location and presence of an enemy target. The sand can even detect invisible targets and stick to their body. Note: Can only be used by Gaara
Rank: A
Type: Defense
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 30 (per use)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: A self sustaining, self aware, autonomous defense, its the technique which made Gaara renown for having what was later called "Perfect Defense". Basically, any Sand nearby will encircle the user and move to intercept any attack that is used against him. The sand is fast enough to intercept otherwise "instant" techniques such as Amaterasu or very fast Taijutsu attacks (up to trice the users base speed) and can stop A-Rank blunt force impacts such as those delivered by Taijutsu or solid elements. The sand can even create an otherwise perfect sphere of sand around the user in a split second. Even if the user is unaware of an attack, the sand will protect him. The disadvantage is that the shield will drain chakra from the user each time it defends him, which happens without his input. However, the user can still defend from techniques and "will" the shield to not act if he is in the process of producing a counter to the impending attack. In some special circumstances, the sand can gather and form a female-like protector in the path of an incoming technique, much stronger than the normal shield of sand and which can protect the user from attacks up to S-Rank. Note: Its defensive abilities still follow elemental weakness and strengths. Note: If there is no dirt or sand on the battle field, the technique will use the users own Sand from his Sand Gourd. Note: S-Rank protection will disable the Sand Shield for 2 turns and can only be activated once every 4 turns.
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary/Attack/Defense
Range: Short-Long
Chakra cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: Gaara will manipulate sand from either his gourd or call it forth from the ground, using hand gestures to control it as he shapes it and uses it to his needs. He can use it to restrain enemies, defend from incoming techniques, produce simple constructs of sand (which lose their shape if control is released), sand waves, etc. If he uses the sand from his gourd, the technique is both faster and stronger, gaining a rank in strength.
To be honest, I am basing it on the anime, Gaara was never seen using this technique without placing two finger tips on his closed eye, the technique doesn't indeed state anything about a hand, but since it was the only way it was shown in the anime, I would say it is the way to go. You can further confirm with Scorps as he is the creator of such techniques. And the short to long range is to how far you can create your eye, you can create it right next to you or far from you, in long range. The 20/20 is the field of vision.Placing my hand over my right eye, I focus a minute amount of my sand and chakra to a precise point directly behind, on my blind spot. Feeling the sand and chakra begin to coagulate into the point I willed it into, an eye of sand manifests suddenly. I take a minute to adjust to the strange sensation of being able to see behind oneself, before I deactivate the technique.
Questions: The technique description doesn't state anything that implies one needs to physically use their hand to cover their eye, just that they have to close it. Are you certain that a hand needs to be used to cover one eye even if it's already closed? Also, I noticed the range says short to long; does this refer to how far the eye can see, or how far away I can create the eye from my person? If it's the latter, then the last sentence of the technique description seems to contradict the range it's given.
Standing short ranged from a target, I manipulate the sand from my gourd in order to release a small wave of sand that strikes the target, dealing minor damage.
No questions for this one.
Apologies for the delay, but I'm fully active again. To be honest, I am basing it on the anime, Gaara was never seen using this technique without placing two finger tips on his closed eye, the technique doesn't indeed state anything about a hand, but since it was the only way it was shown in the anime, I would say it is the way to go. _____
These two are really similar so I will do them in one bunch, the first one you simply manipulate the sand below your opponent in order to create a spinning pillar that would rise up from below your opponent and launch him in the air, while inflicting a slight damage to his lower body. And the second one is basically the same, expect you can create more than one pillar and they don't spin. The only noticeable difference, however, is that since you can make more than one pillar, you can attack more than one target, but the damage would be divided on the number, making the damage not even worth mentioning, so keep that in mind.
( Suna Hokori Sākuru ) - Sand Dust Circle
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 20
Description: Gaara manipulates his sand to create a spinning pillar of sand rise up from beneath the opponent and lift them into the air.
( Funsui no Maisō Hokori ) - Fountain Burial Dust
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 20
Description: Gaara manipulates his chakra to generate multiple small pillars of sand to rise up from the ground beneath the target and lifting them into the air.
These clones are way different than normal clones, in case you have learnt those. These clones are basically a sand version of the basic ninjutsu clones that you have learnt in the Academy, expect they can withstand more damage, they can reform after getting hit by a physical attack and they can function as diversion by throwing ninja tools or close combat attack. They can't be used for disguise since they are easily distinguishable from you. They can't use sand, though.
(Suna Bunshin) - Sand Clone
Rank: C
Type: Defense/Offensive/Supplementary
Range:Short
Chakra Cost: 25 (+10 per clone reappearing)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user creates upto two clones made of sand. The clones are easily distinguishable from the user because of their brown colour. The clones can catch objects or attacking shinobi within themselves and trap them letting Gaara attack with ease. Even when hit with physical techniques, the clones reform.
Note: Clone costs 10 chakra to reappear again.
Tell me everything you know about sand.
Pretty much the above, along with the fact that it was used primarily by Sunagakure shinobi, albeit not on the same level of manipulation as Gaara or a "KG" custom sand user.Sand release is a versatile KG that was introduced in the series by Gaara; it can be used for a large variety of things in both battling and RPing outside of battles. I focus sand underneath the target while simultaneously releasing multiple shuriken to their left, manipulating the sand in such a way that it pushes them to their left as well, into the path of the shuriken.Alright we can continue with the analysis style. ( Suna no Ryuusui ) – Stream of Sand
Type: Supplementary
Rank: C
Range: Short – Long
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user gathers sand below his opponents and makes them move away, creating a stream or like a continuous wave of sand to push the target in the desired direction. It is used to incapacitate the opponent without harm.
Fairly straightforward manipulate the sand underneath your target, moving them in a direction of your choosing.
