At some point along the line, before I even joined this fandom, people thought Minato was the hidden Akatsuki leader that turned out to be Pain and that his name was Uzumaki Arashi based on a name on the Toad Contract Scroll. I bet it sounded real plausible then, but now? Its just silly.

So, now I wonder....

What other crazy ass Naruto theories do you guys remember to have heard at some point before later being proven wrong? I'm more curious about the farfetched ones, not something basic and well known like 'Izuna is Tobi' or 'The final coffin holds the Rikudo Sennin', but share what you will.

Oh, I remember that. It was a pretty well backed up theory. Some Naruto-Hinata fans were also arguing that his wife was Hyuga, I recall....turns out it was more like his mother, which is really weird in hindsight.
