Range enemies aren't a problem with Yata as defense.

You can making petty excuses. If the opponent is purely ranged Itachi has Yasaka Magatama and amaterasu. Yata can change any of it's properties including shape to fit and counter any attack. And Totsuka negs all.

You can only awaken Rinnegan naturally, there is no alternative ways to get it, Hagoromo isn't a God that can give Tenten Rinnegan(KKM) , Sasuke got Hashirama's cells + chakra for a reason.
