Naruto's unbelievable kunai skills.

Has anyone ever noticed how in filler, Naruto uses a kunai as a weapon far more often than in canon?

And they always make it seem like he's some incredible kunai master or something that can even keep experienced swordsman at bay...

The above is especially true when they show him fighting Sasuke...

That makes no sense, right? Sasuke is an experienced swordsman, more than able to take on Naruto who is only wielding a small knife.

Its probably just a way of making him counter sasuke's swordsmanship, I know...but if that's the case, I really do wonder why nobody ever thought of giving him a weapon of his own rather than a basic kunai knife.

I mean, they had no problem in having him wield a sword in the canonical Boruto movie....

So why not give Naruto a weapon to call his own in the end of the day instead of having him stick with a kunai?

Well its not impossible for ninja to counter Kenjutsu with kunai. Itachi used Kunai when fighting Sasuke so I don't think Naruto can't do the same. He just doesn't need to do that anymore.

It's too bad we don't see this more often
I mean in shippuden it's kinda useless since they reached DBZ powers so a mere weapon is no good
But in the first arc they should have shown more usage of weapons
On the other hand I don't see Naruto as a weapon user, he likes to go in with his fists and clones and rasengan XD

Gonna piggy back off of Umari senjus idead. Give naruto some tonfa,they would be the perfect counter for kenjutsu,even just using one would give him an affirmative edge against kenjutsu users.

The real reason is because Kishi doesnt want to give Naruto a lethal weapon because of the image he is trying to display through Naruto.

He was never gonna have Naruto stab anyone.

He invented Rasenshuriken. But first learned Rasengan from Jiraiyah.

Sasuke invented Kirin but first learned chidori from Kakashi.

He didnt learn Shadowclone from tobirama he learned it on his own. He didnt borrow it and it doesnt define the indra/asura dynamic.
