Orochimaru was smarter than everyone

He had a general idea of the secrets to Madara's body in which Kabuto was able to use for the war. He knew Tobi was not Madara otherwise he would have better tabs on him. Orochimaru also knew how to keep himself immortal by using the cursed seal as a way to bring him back as seen with Sasuke and Anko. He was able to establish his own village and keep control of so many hideouts on his own and using subordinates that obeyed him till the end.

Also lets not forget, Sasuke knew Orochimaru was stronger than him but he had an advantage

I don't see what you fixed. And those guys I mentioned were manipulated by black zetsu as much as he manipulated every other shinobi.
-Itachi maimed Oro forcing him to get sasuke stronger only to be pulled out and sealed once Itachi finished using him.
-Tobi, ducked him and his war. Used him in akatsuki.
-Madara used his student(kabuto) to keep his edo tensei active and he started experimenting before Oro did.

How? Tobi and Madara were talented, but easily manipulated by Zetsu. They didn't display any true intelligence.

Itachi was indeed brilliant, but more of a strategist.

Black zetsu manipulated everybody. Tobi used Orochimaru for his akatsuki group and the only credit that I can give madara is that he planned this moon eye project thing from like 80 years ago. Itachi also used orochimaru to get sasuke stronger. Orochimaru is super smart but there are people ahead. Kakashi is the strategist.

Tobi didn't use Orochimaru in the war, Orochimaru volunteered to join for his own purposes, to gain intel. He stated this himself.

Madara didn't use Kabuto. Zetsu showed Kabuto Madara's remains in order to revive him. Still, Orochimaru would've known better to fall prey.

Itachi FOCRED Orochimaru is the sense he saw no other option to acquire the sharingan. This wasn't manipulation, this was literally the only option left. Itachi only knew Orochimaru motives and predicted he'd go after Sasuke.

Naw Sharingan doesnt make you smart. It makes you strong.

Oro is the best villian aside from the aura Pain brought.

Everyone in akatsuki is his minion, and still Orochimaru ducked tobi's war so he wouldn't get himself killed. He still waited to go after sasuke's body because tobi threatened to kill him if he did.

-Kabuto was used not him, if it was Orochimaru it would be an entirely different story. Again Black Zetsu hated him for how smart he was

Black zetsu didn't hate Orochimaru, if not for him madara would never comeback to life. He played Orochimaru's spy easily
