Did Kakashi ever surpass Itachi?

Kishimoto always had Kakashi pair off with Itachi in fights and it was always like a "Who's better" rivalry between them. So in terms of

Did Kakashi ever surpass itachi overall? I know for sure he matched him at somepoint but it's hard to gage between their last fight and the end of the war arc.

The only version of Kakashi that can beat Itachi, is a blood-lusted, unrestricted Kamui-spamming Kakashi. And that's only because Kamui is inherently busted, not because of Kakashi in any way.
