what others think or say to you?

Before when I was still a kid, I really do not care what others think and say to me because I do not listen to them. I was very passive until someone talk to me about me being too frank and that I have hurt someone with my words. Because err.. I am very talkative, frank, and always pulling pranks. (Well... maybe a little now LOL)
I thought about my actions and words I have acted and spoken and yeah, I think I went overboard. So I apologize to her and she forgave me. From that day on, I realized that sometimes I am too much and did not know that I may hurt other’s feelings. So I am really careful now. But still, I may be mean and frank sometimes… especially when it is someone I do not like LOL :snick:

They say there are ‘constructive criticism’ and I think one should at least assess themselves about it. Not totally change the way they are, but hmm.. be sensitive about other’s feelings. Also, there are some things that we do not see for ourselves and that others may saw it.

What about you?

*I will continue these threads from now on. :) I will give +rep to everyone who will participate as a sign of gratitude. I really appreciate those who share their opinions and views in life. By just reading them, I am being open to a lot of things… and I understand more and more about life LOL or just taking some time off and discuss other things. Thank you!

I act like I don't care about what others think, I just do my own thing all the time.
Deep down inside, I know I do care though.
Oh what a sad life it is.

I want to give my usual extremely sarcastic and arrogant response, but that could be misconstrued as just having a good self image in these circumstances. Damn.

I don't care what people think of me, because i know they're all wrong anyway.

If care was a 100% total i would only care between 10-20%

Because atleast you want society to see you as a normaal person right? Or get "accepted" by it lol.

But for all that i really, really don't care

Yeah. I honestly think everyone cares what people think. Even if they're the most confident and stable person ever. Even if they say they don't care. Words do effect people, no matter how little or much. But personally for me, I happen to have the attitude that I don't care, but I do deep inside. U_U

yeah your threads are dope, keep it up for sure

it really depends on whats said. but yeah some words and things i refuse to let slide. in my childhood their were times i excepted the things people said or did to me and it would just end up bothering me later. id feel bad for not standing up for myself, or not saying something, wishing i did. that got old fast

i stop it right when it starts. tell them i dont like it and if they cant accept that leave me alone. most people actually will respect you for that, very few actually try to be violent

I only care if it's targeted at my athletic performances, such as Lacrosse and Basketball.

When they do, it doesn't really hurt me. More like, motivates me to get better.

It depends on my mood. There are times that I'm quite fragile so any type of word with any intention of hurting me will achieve it's goal but most of the times I'm in the idgaf mood so.

One of the annoying things in my life is listening to advises. For someone to tell me what's best for my interest. Jeez! I know. Just leave me deal with my own problems and my life.

I am used to people underestimating me. So instead of caring about what they think I do my own thing to prove people wrong.

It is all about finding balance between what is constructive and what is just cruel criticism. There are also many ways to rephrase sentences without them sounding angry, judgmental, or accusatory. I think everyone has said something that they regret. If people know you have their best intention in mind they tend to forgive you. Keep in mind that most people judge others based on actions, but judge themselves based on intention.

Probably yes, at least sometimes.
I've come a long way tho. When I was a child and was bullied in school, the negativity pulled me down all the time. You know, people were making fun of my shyness and my incisor teeth, since they are visible between my lips a tiny bit when I relax my mouth completely. However, when I got older, I realized that those who used to shittalk over me are just very sad people that try to feel better themselves by talking down other people. Actually, one of the people who bullied me commited suicide some years later.

After I left middle school, things got a lot better. Sure, there were still some idiots around, but I no longer had them in my classes. I met a lot of people who were kind to me and supported me, so I started to stop caring about idiots who try to pull other people down into their own misery.

But a few years ago, I discovered the internet. That changed things again. I didn't know that so many people were full of hatred and were insulting each other left and right, every day, every night. It's hard to not-care about mean things if you are a sensitive person, but we just have to keep on moving forward. The best way to deal with negativity is to ignore it. I do my best to do so. Don't deal with hatred, just ignore it. Block these people away wherever you can (like here on NB for example) and then you will start to feel better. It's definitely saving a lot of energy that isn't worth to be wasted for such things.

I try too hard to avoid it so I miss out on making connections with people, it really sucks.

I had hurt other's feelings too. Because of that I lost a precious one. Not that I felt sad or anything but I thought why to care about temporary attachments. Better be silent and mind your own business.

I don't care about what others think of me. It may be my only human life I get. Better enjoy yourself rather than caring about others. I am the only one to judge about me not anyone :)

I try to not care but deep down i know i do and it's just something that you really can't get rid of. The best thing to do is to try befriending positive people and blocking out the negative ones. One can only take so much hate before they break.
