[Theory] Ukitake's bankai will counter Gerard??

So Ukitake's shikai is reflecting attacks back and not directly offensive like other zanpakuto. What if Ukitake somehow counters the miracles through some sort of trickery with his bankai. Clearly, attacking Gerard isn't doing jack shit and even Toshiro's bankai which stops all functions couldn't kill him. So trickery is the last option here. Does anyone else see this as a possibility assuming Ukitake comes back.

Knowing Gerard, it goes like this:
Gerard shouts about Miracles.
Ukitake does something clever and Gerards head comes off.
Gerards head comes back on, and shouts about Miracles again.
Ukitake does something else clever, and Gerard's gead comes off again.
Gerard's head comes back on again, and continues to shout about miracles. At no point does he take the upper hand in the fight.
Ukitake decides there are better things he could be doing, and leaves.
