Sarutobi clan was always a strong clan though like Hyuga have little to show. Even Madara was surprised when he found out they was gonna join Konoha.

No one's arguing which one is stronger, as that much is obvious. It just shows that Kakashi praised the Hyuga's power in a similar manner to how he praised the Uchiha.
As i said, His statements about the uchiha were pre-massacre, It's hardly logical for him to say the uchiha are still the strongest when the strongest uchiha in the leaf was sasuke who was weaker than neji at the time.

Well they can dodge you know or use an element of their own it's not like Hyuga must have rotation to defend against basic elemental moves.
Hyuga had the potential to develop into a clan as strong as the uchihas but kishi ignored their development and based on what the clan we got, Neji can't beat anything above Hebi Sasuke. Hebi Sasuke he might stand a chance.
Based on what we've seen of Kaguya's power and Hamura who fought Kaguya, I'd say the hyuga's have not achieved their full potential yet.

When Itachi first used Tsykuyomi on Kakashi did Kakashi know it was MS? Probably not because later in part 2 he said he awakened a new jutsu and want to test it out. Then he told the fake Itachi how much have his eyes deteriorated again he just awakened MS so how did he know of it's effects? The only way is if he read the tablet or his MS as soon as he used it went blurry a bit.
Then the fact that even without MS Uchiha was considered one of the strongest with the Senju and hardly a few awakened Sharingan too.

Byakugan can allow an user to see things on cell levels, something like string is barely on cell level and can easily detect. Neji can just grab the string and shoot chakra back at Sasuke and he will share the same fate as Kidoumaru :lol
