Hinata fans must have been so disappointed to miss such a big opportunity. 
If Hinata had realized to use her Byakugan instantly when Gaara had taken Naruto in his sand cloud to pick up Tsunade who later sent Sakura she would have not missed her ride for the biggest opportunity of her life.
Instead she fcks up pretty easily. It starts with her not realizing to use the Byakugan until Kiba told her to do so.
If she use her Byakugan, she would have tracked down their location pretty quickly but of course just conviently she had to trip.
Now if she hadn't tripped and had realized that her Naruto kun was neraby here do you think she would have went with the guys trying to stop Juubidara and later Kaguya?
I think yes, she would have gotten a lot of development character wise as well as strength wise. If she had met up with Gaara and Sakura in time, Sakura would have vouched for her because she knows Hinata loves Naruto and Hinata can perform CPR as well.
She did fix Naruto's dislocated joint.
So she would have been useful in some kind of way to Naruto like Sakura was. Hinata then would also be Part of the Team 7 fighting group because though Sasuke only wanted to protect Naruto from the IT's rays he protected the whole team. Hinata would have been part of it and she would also be known as one of the heroes that stopped Kaguya but as usual she misses her biggest chances to do the things she said she wanted to do.
